[REDACTED] The Trials of House Horuset, a Summary

#1

[This information is now redundant and archived in regards to the Trials of old]

The screen would colour and lines of data would stream across the screen as the system downloads the appropriate and needed information. With a beep, the screen would indicate having completed it's task. Finally a face would appear on the screen. An elderly looking human with grey hair around his temple, and a long wiry beard of the same colour. Deep recesses of scars and wrinkles would pockmark his tanned skin and he would speak with a deep voice. One that holds a steel that seems opposed the the apparent fragility of the man.

"Acolytes, you -are- nothing. Your predecessors in this House are failures and until this moment you followed their pathetic footsteps. Darth Horuset, in his undying wisdom, has left it to myself and my other Overseers to see that a new wave of acolytes ascend to become Sith. I intend to oblige him. I wont let any of you stop me from producing, any of you who try and do so will feel the wrath of our might and see their lives drip away in the sand."

The man would readjust himself as he appears to look down his nose at the recorder. Frowning which only further crinkles his aged skin.

"The trials in their new form will take place over three weeks of trials, and a period of cool down. There will be one trial a week during the on-season and then no trials during the off-season. Until an acolyte has passed two of their three trials they are forbidden to interact with anyone outside of the Overseers and their peers. Acolytes will be confined to the Dromund Kaas Estate and Th'Asidra unless otherwise commanded to. And once they have passed three trials they are eligible to be taken by a Sith as an apprentice when a Sith of appropriate rank decides them worthy. I am sure I will be meeting you all very soon, and let me tell you, I hope every one of you is relishing the moment as much as I am."

The man would finally offer a salute to the recorder, his features twisted by a bitter and malicious grin that spreads over his lips giving him an almost demonic look.

"This is Head Overseer Arcukot, signing off."

Should any Acolyte access this file, they were first met with the words of Head Overseer Arcukot. And soon after, as the image and words faded, there would be a new face. This face no one has seen before. It was a middle aged woman. It was clear on her face that she was in her thirties. Her black hair tied up in a small bun. Her dark yellow eyes would stare at the viewer. Her attire would be recognizable to them.

"Acolytes, I am Overseer Naefas. You lot don't recognise me, but that is because you uncivilized lot choose to fight like children and make a mockery of this glorious Powerbase. This all occurred with the disappearance of Head Overseer Arcukot. It ends now. From a slumber, the Overseers will once again roam the halls of the Th'Asidra and the Spire, whipping you all into shape fit for our Dark Lord of Horuset."

The woman stood tall as she spoke, her hands resting on her hips as a stern expression was painted on her face.

"The Overseers and I have decided there will be a new addition to our Acolyte Trials from now one. As some of you know, when a season comes, there are three weeks given to you, three lessons and three trials. We as Overseers are not pleased with the current state of the Acolyte Pool. Therefore we came up with a solution. From now on, there will be four weeks in each Trial season. There will be four lessons and four trials."

She raised her right hand, her index finger pointed slightly at the camera as she spoke to the viewer.

"You still need three trials completed under your name in the Acolyte roaster to be eligible for Apprenticeship. Your progress and your notes will be seen by all within this Powerbase, all your failures and an odd success will be seen. Head Overseer Arcukot is right. You -are- nothing. With the added week, the lessons and the trials will be much harder and more dangerous than before. If you fail, you will die."

"This is Overseer Naefas, signing off."

The woman would glare at the viewer, letting her words sink in, and then the image faded away as it was engulfed by the darkness. The video came to an end.

Ongoing Crisis
The Republic Marches amongst lit fires!

The Balance of Power in the Northern Territories!

After the Republic liberated Pollus from Imperial influence, Anx Minor was devastated by I.T.E.C.’s nuclear mining and lingering Sith presence, while the Kesmere Ridge remained largely intact, enabling the Republic to steadily infiltrate and influence its powerful corporate systems. On Tertiary Kesmere—the largest hub—three megacorporations dominated: Oriyn Prospecting discovered resources, Kessdyne Resource Group extracted and profited from the capital Vethar’s Reach and its Ciivic Council, and Haeltor Maritime handled off-world transport. Beneath the façade of economic growth, however, The Republic secretly aimed to turn Tertiary Kesmere into a strategic launch point for operations in the Northern Territories. Contacted by Moff Vayen Korr, the Marshalling Prefect of the Northern Territories, the Pentarchy of House Horuset took on the job of delaying the Republic's actions. With preperations laid it culminated in a strike planetside lasting only two weeks to ignite anarchy. Acting covertly to sabotage Republic progress, they destabilized the region, leaving chaos in their wake as corporations collapsed under their own deception and local anti-corporate guilds rose up—unaware of the Empire’s hidden hand behind the unrest...

((OOC: Missions that relate to grand changes in the Northern Territories will have an impact on the balance of power shown above, with the end result being that the balance of power's state will determine how strong the Republic will be in given areas area. The balance of power can be pushing in our favour with bigger scale events aimed at taking the Republic down or fortifying ourselves in the North. This can be achieved through Operations, Adventures and Guild Events. The blue represents the Republic, and the Empire is red! This is organised by the Guild Team, so please direct OOC questions to them.))
