[Rage of Rhelg] Mission Reports

#11
UPDATE: Lord Sarias
----------------------------------------------------------------

Participants:
Lord Sarias
Apprentice Vaera Vipion
Apprentice Mayaz

Summary:

Conducting a follow-up to the bookstore investigations with the exsperince and eyes of alchemists, the bodies were recovered, samples and pictures taken of the area and notations taken of new findings however minor.

Findings:

The bodies have been identified to have belonged to the staff of the murdered Baroness, having been drained of their blood and then been used for the ritual. Whichever the point of said ritual were the cultists ensured to destroy any relevant runes that may have clued us into the purpose of it, but whatever was powered, birthered or attempted within this bookstore was taken from it after as no additional power sources or otherwise was found.

The name "‘Ri Rinyasi Sosûtirtsa’ - the stillborn prince, was found carved above the destroyed ritual circle. Its significance is yet to be found.

Aftermath:
Following the investigations myself and both apprentices exsperinced dreams relevant to the name found. This proves the entity or cult likely had some knowledge of our presence there, or a way of detecting it. The place had been under guard since its finding, and remains so now.

UPDATE: LORD VIPION

I offer my recounting of my kidnapping for the benefit of the powerbase. I am telling you all the full truth as I remember it. I cannot promise it is true. I believe there may be other facts that can be uncovered from my mind.

An important piece of context lies within Sith Tarimra’s report titled “Thelin Doll Ritual”. I invite the reader to read it and compare it:

LINK HERE. POST 19.

My youngest child was the one affected by this, and he his connection to the force was affected due to this ritual. I tell you this because it is for the benefit of the powerbase. His name is Javikan, after Corporal Wellsow, who died during a mission around the Quiet Speaker.

Now, onto the events of our disappearance. My memories of this event come to me only in occasional bursts. They are often abstract, always fragmentary. I cannot promise the truth of them- my interpretations may be self-protective. Perhaps not.  I tell you this because it is for the benefit of the powerbase.

I was walking past Javikan’s room. I did not intend to enter it but sensed something was wrong. I walked into the room and picked him up. The wrong thing was not him, though it often is. It was a small thing in the corner of his room that became a big thing. It became impossibly large and grew teeth and countless eyes. It is to be noted that we possess a robust set of defences at my estate, including force-based ones. The power in the Vipion estate was extinguished soon after.

I was running through the woods with Javikan in my arms. I heard wood splintering behind me and saw a long claw slice through a tree trunk. I heard the laughter of an infant and the crying of another. I was jumping over logs and lost my holocom along the way.

(It is to be noted that Sith Vi’kas found the skull of Javikan Wellsow in my bed after I went missing.)

I see figures in all black with singular red eyes atop glossy red faces. Sabers ignite, and I fight. I feel rage. I am outnumbered, and I sense darkness. I hear an imperial and upper-class voice speak the words “the mother…”

I am floating in a river, cool and dark. It is peaceful, though peace is a lie. White liquid surrounded by a dark void. I float past a dark stain on top of the water, which vibrates with the aftershock of a scream through the force. I see two figures standing in the water, and they offer a hand to me. Featureless - three-dimensional silhouettes, shuddering with power. The void moves. Something stirs there; the “there” itself stirs. It is the size of a mountain and the size of a grain of sand. I feel an inexplicable pang of maternalism within me. I tell you this because it is for the benefit of the powerbase.

I stand in a small pool of the same water. I am standing opposite a man with a glossy black face and a single red eye. He is holding my son in his arms.

“Such a shame,” an older voice- a Sith accent outside of Kaas.

“The black fane will welcome you. Your siblings are waiting.”

Behind him looms ten massive thrones, each inordinately huge.
Each bear an item:
  1. A pile of plate armour,
  2. A pile of weaponry,
  3. A warblade,
  4. A glass jagged monolith,
  5. A plume of purple smoke,
  6. A coil of chains,
  7. A snake that weaves among itself,
  8. A golden crown,
  9. And a fountain of blood that spills clear into the water.

I hear metal clanging on metal and plumes of rust, and then I see a gout of red blood. Feet are sinking into the mid, teeth are bared, and claws dig into cold, slick flesh.

I feel something cold and painful splash against my skin. I am kneeling low across a dark stone expanse.

I am back in the woods. I find an old holocom and call for help. Javikan is different. He opens his mouth to cry, and no sound escapes. He makes no noise as he moves. This is still the case months later, though he has spoken his first words softly. My blind eye has a blood drop upon it. We later determine it is alchemically modified. We smell of ammonia.

I tell you this because it is for the benefit of the powerbase.

That is all.

Lord Sarias received a report of further disturbances upon Rhelg, and she assembled a party to visit the Imperial outpost nearby.

“A crater alike the one to have been made upon the initial sighting of the 'rage of rhelg', has been discovered near a recently captured outpost on Rhelg.
Two imperials of a small group send to investigate fell in, but were rescued out - shaken, but alive.
I will be departing to Rhelg on the morrow to investigate the matter and question them.
Those who wish to accompany me for this matter, are welcome to do so - simply await the call.”

Attached was a copy of an addition to the Rage of Rhelg's report:

And so we did.

We travelled down to find that the outpost was in the middle of being overrun by rebels. Civilians (and some Imperials) of all species were wielding weapons of all type. It was a massacre with little sense of semblance of order; people tearing each other apart and running into lines of fire with no sense of self-preservation, pushed on by a sense of rage that all Sith present could feel, overwhelming and nauseating in its wake.

We quickly moved to support the survivors of the incursion and slowly put the rebellion down. Questioning a survivor led to his report of the two Imperials who went down into the tunnel- Corporal Furzeen and Private Galzeth- being the first two imperials who “had to be put down”.

It is not certain if this rage was contagious from these two Imperials or not.

The arrival of the Rage of Rhelg was heralded by a sense of swelling power and the rumbling of the ground. The party found areas of high ground to take to and awaited its unveiling, which arrived quickly. The Rage of Rhelg made THIS noise, as picked up by our equipment. It was about ten feet high and about as wide, with strange armor nailed to it and multiple limbs holding weapons, multiple orange eyes within. Combat ensued.

I myself drained a dying individual on the ground and began to channel it into a sorcerous blast. I found this to be a suddenly hazardous challenge as draining this person had me almost overwhelmed by rage, some of the beast’s power within the dying man. I wanted to kill everybody I looked at, and the sensation quickly became close to overwhelming. I finished the individual off with my lightsaber and forced myself to only stare at the creature I intended to hit.

All around, people’s spells and weapons showed little effect save for Sith Vi’kas’ katana and Ensign Rennab’s cryo-grenades, until several individuals began to rip the armor off of the beast to reveal a weak spot. From there, people were able to distract it and also hit the beast better with lightning. Lord Sarias immobilized the beast temporarily with a very impressive whirlwind of the force, along with the efforts of several others to hold it down, and then I hit it with a large blast of Sorcery that severely weakened it. From then, the creature was killed off.

Apprentice Araki’s body became a vessel for the consciousness of the creature soon after. Apprentice Kaleehi spotted something was wrong. When Apprentice Nivalis attempted to stop her, the possessed Araki was able to turn his wrist around 360 degrees. Corporal Rees got over her shock and shot to stun her after Sith Zevasa successfully repelled the creature from Apprentice Araki’s head. It was not given time to speak.

By all accounts it appears that the Rage of Rhelg, as a creature, is dead. The conciousness that ruled it, however, is not. Sith Zevasa claims:

Notable events after:
  • Araki was knocked out by multiple stun bolts by Corporal Rees. Her mental status is due to be checked soon.
  • Lord Sarias took the creature to be autopsied in depth.
  • The ground was secured by droids.
  • The individual surviving Imperials should give detailed accounts.
  • The tunnel from which the beast emerged needs to be explored.
  • Lord Sarias reported that the map had shifted, two stars in the sky, and sent this image:

Ongoing Crisis
War in the Northern Territories

The Balance of Power in the Northern Territories!

"The Northern Territories shift under the weight of changing times. With the passage of the ICOT, internal strife amongst Imperial Forces in the North has lessened - though never abated. Although the momentum of the Republic has not yet been met entirely, fortification efforts and victorious naval campaigns have evened the footing at least slightly. Eyes align on systems such as Vykos, Nam'ta and Orsus to see how this proceeds.."

((OOC: The Balance of Power system has begun! Missions that relate to grand changes in the Northern Territories will have an impact on the balance of power shown above, with the end result being that the balance of power's state at the start of the next war arc will determine how strong the Republic will be in the area. The balance of power can be pushing in our favour with bigger scale events aimed at taking the Republic down or fortifying ourselves in the North. This can be achieved through Operations, Adventures and Guild Events. The blue represents the Republic, and the Empire is red! This is organised by the Guild Team, so please direct OOC questions to them.))
